An Overview on the Dealer Procedure in Progressive Blackjack

Blackjack is a common table game in casinos which is also offered as a game with a progressive jackpot. The progressive blackjack has a progressive wager which is optional among players. Only one chip is allowed to wager for the progressive jackpot in the coin acceptor per player. To indicate a progressive wager has been made by a player the LED on the coin acceptor will light.

There are certain dealer procedures that are done in the progressive blackjack game which every blackjack player should be aware. The dealer procedures involved in the progressive blackjack consists of 4 major phases.

The first dealer procedure in progressive blackjack is dealing of hands. The dealer needs to follow the protocol of announcing to all players on the table that no more bets are allowed and the progressive jackpot is closed.

The dealer then begins to deal cards to each player starting from the dealer's left which ends to the dealer. All cards initially dealt to each player are placed faced down. The second round of dealing cards to the players and to the dealer involves cards placed on a face up position.

The second phase of the dealer procedure follows after the dealing of cards which is playing the progressive blackjack. The dealer will then begin to deal another card to the players from the left. If the player does not wish to have an additional card the dealer deals the card to the next players.

The dealing of cards continues on by giving the player additional card if they want to hit until the players either bust or stand When a player busts the dealer procedure will be to remove the wager and if they stand the dealer move to the next player to deal more cards.

Once a player busts and they don't make a progressive wager the dealer removes the cards from the table and places it on the card holder. If the player made a progressive bet their cards will be left on the table until all hands are completed and all cards have been revealed.

The third phase of dealer procedure is then undertaken which is to determine the winning hands. The regular rules in blackjack apply. If the dealer busts all active players are paid by the dealer. If the dealer has a hand value higher than the player the dealer takes the player's wager. If the player has a higher hand value than the dealer, the dealer pays the player. If there is a push where the dealer and player have the same card values the player retains their wagers.

The fourth phase of the dealer procedure is concluding the game by paying the winners, taking the wagers of losing players and the dealer return all played cards on the card holder. Players who won the progressive jackpot will also be paid their due winnings.

Playing for the progressive blackjack allows a player to have a side bet which gives them an addition winning to enjoy.
