What to Do When You Get to the Blackjack Table

If you find yourself sitting in a blackjack table, there's nothing else to do but play. Maybe, it was fate that led you the blackjack table. Who knows, right? If you don't know how to blackjack, it's fairly easy to play the game. Read our article then to be prepared beforehand just in case fate does lead you towards the blackjack tables on your next visit to the casino.

Step #1 Make a Bet Since you're not that used to playing blackjack yet, we suggest that you act like a flat bettor for the time being or until you gain sufficient experience. A flat bettor, fyi, is one who doesn't change the size of his bet no matter what game or how long he's playing.

But if you're feeling very blessed, we're certainly not going to stop you from making a huge wager. Rock on!

Step #2 Mind Your Own Business We're just reminding you that as far as casinos are concerned, the casino staff is omniscient because of the hundreds of security cameras installed in every nook and corner. So don't cheat!

Don't peep at the other player's hand. There's no point in doing so anyway. In blackjack, it's your hand against the dealer's hand. That's the only thing you should worry about.

Step #3 Bluffing Unless the variation you're playing requires you to turn one card face up, it's best to keep your expression bland when you receive your first two cards. Make the dealer's job as difficult as you can. All's fair in blackjack and war, right?

Step #4 Aim for a 17 If you get anything below 17, you should really consider drawing another card. 17 is like the borderline in blackjack, the line that separates the ugly hands from the ones that could make you cry in joy.

Step #5 Doubling Down If you're reasonably secure of your hand, don't hesitate to double down on your wager. There are, however, variations of blackjack that only allow you to double down on certain instances. For that reason, it's important to know beforehand the game's rules regarding doubling down.

That way, you won't be able to make a mistake of letting the dealer know you wish to double down when in the first place you're not allowed to do so. When you do that, it's like virtually giving away the game already!

We hope you had fun and learned things of value from our step-by-step-guide on playing blackjack. Good luck on the game!
